Liquid cooling systems: Leakless v.2
ATLAS / LARG CALORIMETER FRONT-END ELECTRONICS
Cooling Unit
Technical Specifications
Uniphase cooling unit composed by 2 independant circuits: The
cooling circuit (secondary) is cooled by a chilled water circuit (primary)
via a plate heat exchanger.
-
Primary circuit:
-
CERN chilled water 20kW @ +6°C / +12°C.
-
Secondary circuit:
-
Fluid: Demineralized water or Perfluorocarbone C6F14.
-
Operating pressure controlled by Leakless v.2 system via a P.L.C.
-
Operating temperature range: +12°C to +20°C.
-
Temperature controlled by autotuning PID controller via 3 ways solenoid
valve on primary circuit - Stability ± 0.2°C.
-
Vertical multistage centrifugal pump with PID pressure control - Max. Flow
8 m3/h - Max. Pressure 2 bar.
-
Storage tank 80 l.
-
Input and Output manifolds with 6 individual channels and needle valve.
-
Controls:
-
Each working component are controlled by the PLC according to Leakless
procedure.
-
Manometer on storage tank.
-
Manometer on pump output.
-
Option: Ball flowmeter on each output channel.
-
