ATLAS TRACKER PIXEL AND SCT - COOLING OF THE ELECTRONICS
Phase II - Extensive Tests with Haug Compressor 4 cylinders
Pumping Speed and Power

The compressor's magnetic drive is breaking down between 22 and 30 Hz, so our working frequency range goes from 30 to 60 Hz.

Maximum measured flow is 188 [g/s] at 1.2 inlet pressure and 50 Hz, so the compressor achieves easily the required 176 [g/s] and can probably go up to 220 [g/s].

Our limitation is the maximum 6 kW heater that give us heating up about [100 g/s].

Note that the theorical fridge power is based on an enthalpy of 90 [J/g], that supposes subcooling of C3F8 at -20°C, which is not the case in this test.
